I would like to start by saying a huge thank you to Maria and Martin for taking care of the shop while Dale and I were in New Zealand. We had the most amazing time and now that we are back, I’m so pleased that Maria has offered to continue as a volunteer. I’m also delighted to welcome Jo Woodman to the team. You’ll see Maria in the shop on Tuesdays and Jo on Fridays.
Thank you to everyone who supported our Easter Raffle and well done to all our lucky winners! With both the raffle draw and the children’s Easter Egg Hunt taking place, it was an exceptionally busy Easter Saturday morning with the queue snaking round the shop and stretching outside too.
The raffle raised £159 which we have used to buy a new pavement sign.
This new sign is described as weatherproof so we are hoping it can withstand Exmoor weather! The old one has blown away far too many times.

If you’ve visited the shop recently you will have seen our new window display. We will change the window seasonally, and this initial display is designed to show the variety of items we stock. You’ll also see we have our summer opening hours advertised the blackboard outside the shop.
We will shortly be taking delivery of a new double fridge, thanks to funding from the Brompton Regis Show & Gymkhana. We will need to take the porch apart to get the old fridge out and the new fridge in, but we plan to do as much as possible outside of opening hours to minimize disruption to customers.
Finally, it is our Annual Members’ Meeting on Thursday 7th May at 7.00 pm in the Village Hall. Please do come along if you can. We would welcome your ideas and suggestions, so if there’s anything we can improve on, or items you would like us to stock, please pop a note in our suggestion box – this will be at the meeting on 7th May and then in the shop.
Thanks for your continued support.
Chris
