Equine Flu Statement
As many horse owners will be aware there is currently a countrywide outbreak of equine influenza – “flu”
The Show Committee are currently monitoring the situation closely including liaising with the relevant authorities about the current disease status locally. We will continue to do this up until the date of the show and will make any decisions that need to be taken accordingly. Please keep a close eye on our website page and Facebook for the latest information.
In light of possible increased disease risk to either your horse and ponies or the wider equine population we will be asking that all horses and ponies coming to the show this year have up to date flu vaccinations and noted in their passports. It is a legal requirement to have this passport with you whenever you travel your horse or pony to an event so please make sure you have it with you when you come to the show. At this point we are reserving the right to check all passports on entry to the showground if we feel it is appropriate depending on disease status locally at the time of the event. This will be clearly indicated in pre-show information on our website and Facebook to ensure you allow any extra time needed in your preparations.
We would currently strongly advise all horses to have had a booster vaccination within the last 6 months for the best protection against disease and also to reduce shedding of the virus to other equines. However, horses who were booster vaccinated within the last year at the date of the show will be accepted.
If your horse or pony has not been vaccinated or the vaccines have lapsed please talk to your own veterinary surgeon about restarting a course. There is time to restart a course and have the first 2 vaccinations before the show this year or have a “top up” booster.
Please do not bring your horse or pony to the event within 7 days of a vaccine.
We look forward to seeing you all on 8 August.

Sponsorship, Auction of Promises and Raffle
We are looking for businesses and individuals to become sponsors of the show. No amount is too little and if you are unable to provide financial support, perhaps consider donating a raffle prize or a pledge for the auction. Pledges can be anything from an hour of house cleaning, car MOT, gardening, a meal at a local pub or restaurant.
For sponsorship, raffle prizes and auction of pledges, please contact Malcolm Woodman
